Mauser Rifle Stripper Clips How to Tell which is Which

Hello

I was wondering how you can tell which Stripper clip is which for 8mm OR 6.5x55 IF you have no box with writing on it OR ammo to check with OR have a rifle to check fit with?

8mm Mauser clips have 3 dimples on either side,6.5mm Swedish have only 2,none in the middle.

Should you find one with only one dimple in the middle it's for 7.62x51 NATO.

If you have no rifle or ammo then why would you need the clips .

Its really simple. you go to google. type, stripper clips for 8mm mauser. click on pictures. it will give you all sorts of images, compare them with what you have. Same with 6.5x55 or 7.62 nato. You are in front of computer already, use it for research sometime as well not just entertainment.

I think you want to get chargers considering both the cartridge and the rifle. Husqvarna made an 8x57 (model 648). Needs Swedish chargers to fit the rifle - German K98 chargers do not work well... A Model of 1917 re-barrelled to 7.62/308 Win or 270 Win will need the 1903 Springfield chargers originally made for the 30-06. And so on...
