Mauser SSR Sniper Rifle build NOW WITH RANGE REPORT on page 4

Jon ,nice job i like it ,should be a very good shooter as the barrel on that rifle is in like new condt.

what k98 would be the correct year and maker for the LSR mount. From what i have read it would be CE, DUV,or DOT code k98 rifle although the duv rifle is contriversiat, apereantly they made a smal number of rifles with an enlarged receiver ring to accomadate this mount. To find one would be very rear thats why the repro mount comes with a spacer plate to make it fit a regular k98 receiver.
Not sure if the codes above are correct as im just righting this from memory ,if anyone can add to this it would be appreciated.
Jon,i dont know if i would change out the stock on your rifle as it is an Isralie conversion and and is more correct as such and will be hard to make it into a ww11 german k98,enjoy it as it is right now ,who knows you may find the right scope and mount for an isralie sniper and you could use the lsr scope and mount for a proper k98 build .There are lots of possibilites , congrats and nice work

Thanks Gord!
Ya the LSR is definitely a dream rifle, and I don't think I'd attempt a repro on one without the proper thick walled receiver.

Good point on the stock, it's an isreali rifle through and through and stamped as such on both receiver and stock and this is a fun shooter so I'm going to leave it alone and concentrate on a proper ww2 low turret build in 8mm next.

Question; does the post's on a Zeiss enlarge with the magnification like a Kahles? My Kahles german reticle looks great til you crank the magnification to it, then the post's look like...well...fenceposts, lol

Range session!
I shot LC 13 stamped 7.62 ammo and was pleasantly surprised
!

First 5 rounds, 2 sighters and scope adjustments on top then 3 for group.

This was the first and best group of the day.

you should look for a WWII stock now for the full effect.

More pressing that that would be a proper WW2 trigger guard, not that huge post-war Czech monstrosity.

To the OP: There's lots of windage adjustment n that mount. Time to dial it to the left a bit.

On the hunt for 98k in 8mm for a low turret sniper build next.

Drilled and tapped, barreled action only or cut down stocks are all welcome, as long as the barrel is full length and in good shape and bolt not modified.

Any help finding one is greatly apprecited!
