Maverick 88 accessories?

Hey I bought a Maverick 88 pistol grip shotgun from Wholesale Sports. The guy who sold it to me told me that Mossberg 500 accessories won't fit the Maverick though.

Are there dedicated Maverick 88 accessories available? I'm looking for a pistol grip for the foregrip and a shell holder.

She'll holder will fit no issues there!

The only acc that won't fit are the handguards on the pump because the maverick lacks the steel part that the 500 handguards attack to.

The Maverick is just a completely plastic one piece, wheras the 500 is 2 pieces. A metal base with a handguard attached.

You can put a mossberg forend assembly on a maverick just have to buy the assembly.

All other accessories are interchangeable!
 
Look at ATI's products. As mentioned just about everything off a 500 will fit an 88 except for forend.

What are you looking to put on? I'll be putting an ATI AR-15 style stock & heat shield w/ ghost rings on my mav 88.
 
Another incompetent WSS employee...some of those guys know there stuff but the majority seems to be braindead. Anyways as stated the Maverick uses a 1 piece forend, you'll need a M500 slide tube and action bars if you want an aftermarket forend. The 88 uses a crossbolt safety so M500 aftermarket safeties wont work. Other than that they are the same gun. ckextreme, alot of people find the ATI heat shield with ghost rings are poor quality, a good bump will knock them out of zero. The AR stock raises the cheek weld up so high that you cant use your bead sight so keep that in mind. The Tacstar heatshield fits the 88/500 like a factory piece and clamps on tight so it wont move under recoil. Looks just like the factory Mossberg heatshield.

Mossberg 500 rail.. I drilled and tapped it.

this was a fun project... But spend the extra 100$ and get a real moss 500 IMHO

I got this for 150$ so it was no big deal...

BTW some new Moss 500 have the cheap 1 peice forehands so watch out.

Best part about the side saddle, is you can read the Maverick 88 engraving... lol...

Thanks for the info.

I was interested in the heatshield w/ghost rings as a side step to drilling/tapping for a sight setup. But if they're poor quality, I may just have to bite the bullet and get the drilling done.
