maverick 88, can you change the forestock?

Looking for a lower cost 12g pump, and the Maverick 88 is super cheap, seems ok too, except for that cheap BBgun/paintball/airsoft forestock!!

If I can find a cheap and fairly easy(I have tools and am a mechanic so I can use them ok) to change forestock I may get one.

My Maverick broke where the rails are pinned to the pump grip. Been trying for a while to find a replacement with no luck. Most manufacturers, I have been told, are too busy pumping out complete guns to provide parts.

I have read that You can change the forend equipment to accept mossberg 500 forends.
