If there are other members that have a firearm (or anything gun-related) that isn't a collectible or a keepsake that you will never use, why not pass it on? Firearms are meant to be used!
Likewise for the dealers that gain from the members of this Forum. Promote appreciation for those that support you by occasionally having a giveaway (gift certificate?). It doesn't have to be anything high end, but it certainly makes good business sense.

I bought a Maverick 88 12 gauge about a month ago from Frontier. The shotgun is in great shape, looks new and appears to have been used very little. I never used it at all. Does have a couple tiny marks where the barrel bolts on, but other that that it looks great. One of my boys knew that I was looking for a shotgun at the time and went out and bought me a different make and model that I prefer. I had no knowledge that he was going to do this. Now, I have no real use for the 88 and have decided to give it away to a CGN member. It may as well go to a home that will use it.
If you are interested in having a chance to acquire this shotgun you can post a reply to this thread and simply post a random number from 1-500, inclusive. On Sunday, February 28 at 6:00 PM PST I will generate a random number at http://www.random.org/ and post it. The person coming closest to the number without going over, wins the shotgun. In the case of a tie, the person with the winning number with the earliest forum time stamp will win.
When all is said and done the winner will contact me and we can arrange the transfer. Once the transfer is complete I will ship at no cost to the winner.
One username, one random number. Those that post more than one number will be disqualified.
