You obviously have no idea what you are talking about! But thanks for inserting your wisdom! I'm sure everyone else here know the Maverick name and people have been using them for a long time. Awesome guns for the money!

No idea hey.

Maverick isn't even in the same area code as a Mossberg.

Where is the Maverick being used. Any police departments? Military?

Stick with the proven design, not the cheapo one that Canadian Tire used to sell.
 
Maverick is made by Mossberg genius! It is the same reciever and barrel! Different position of the safety, but other than that it is essentiallly the same gun! Thanks for coming out though! And so you know there has been numerous threads here about people with these guns putting thousands of rounds through them without a hiccup. I own one, and have put at least 1000 rounds through it without an issue. Do you own one? If not keep your comments to what you know. Thanks. The action, and barrel are the same as a 500, it is just as reliable in my opinion. The only real difference is the forend as mentioned already. So enjoy the gun OP! You will get lots of years outta it.
 
I bought the Mav 88 and spent the extra on ammo. If you want a short barrel, cyl bore gun, why not. I put an ATI stock with pistol grip on it ($60. clearance sale). Best part is Fuds' stink eye when I use it to shoot clay.

Barrels are $150 plus depending on what you are looking for. The slug barrel is about $190 - $220, and I havent looked for anything else. I said f ck it and am going to buy a dedicated slug gun.
