It was actually Frenchie's (sp) Wholesale Sports, which is where the gun is now on its way back to Mossberg. It is pretty easy to mark up the bolt when punching those pins out, so I doubt the last owner bothered.
Also, I've heard this problem mentioned on other forums, such as Shotgun World, but never saw a reply that provided a viable cure. Strangely enough, I've never heard any mention of a similar problem with the mossy 500s, thus my initial plan to order the return spring for one of these guns instead. Their bolts are identical, after all.
