Maverick 88 security threading/mounting

Hey just wondering if anyone has had the barrel threaded for chokes on the maverick 88 or if it's better to buy another barrel. Also what is the best option for mounting a red dot sight.

Your gonna have to have a gunsmith drill and tap the receiver, cause last I checked the 88’s don’t come factory done, then work on the barrel. I think you’d be further financially ahead to sell it, save a few bucks and get a 500 that’s d&t’ed already and has the barrel setup you want.

Okay, think i might keep it and just save up for something better then. Instead of putting money into it.
