maverick 88 sights options ??

ATI makes a heat shield with ghost ring sights on it.

I have never seen the above product nor heard anyone talk about it, I'm just letting you know it exists.

You're welcome.

I've been thinking of getting a 26" or 28" barrel for my 870 but it looks like I can get a Maverick or Mossberg Combo with two barrels cheaper than I can get a long Remington brand barrel. Too bad the combos usually don't come with interchangeable chokes or it would be a simple choice.

Whoah Lone Ranger! Just a heads up, ATI is not quality. Ive owned quite a few of their products and few were what I was expecting. I havent used their heatshield but most people say its flimsy, the sights are not adjustable and a quick bump knocks it out of alignment. This is on par with my experiences with their products. Personally I would have iron sights soldered to the barrel by a gunsmith or at least someone who knows what theyre doing. For a less expensive route you could go with a pedestal to raise the bead a little higher, though I dont know where you would find one. Some of the fiber optic beads look a little taller than the factory brass, and the XS big dot is definetely taller. Just some options to ponder

Well crap...I already pre-paid for the heatshield $38.00 bucks. I will however give an honest review of it when it comes in....or I can put it on EE LOL.

tacticalshotgunner.com I havent bought from them recently but when I did they had no limit on export orders. Over $300 US of declared firearms parts cleared customs no problem all in the same box. That was sometime last year (summer I think) so things may have changed since

Similar question - I too own a Mav 88. I was thinking about putting a rail on it, and mounting a red dot or something.

Would anyone know of someone who would do that for me in the Edmonton area?

Meprolight makes a Tritium dot front sight to replace the bead, in daylight it's a big white dot and easy to see.

Using one on my 590, like it a lot,YMMV.

Where would one purchase this? Can't order from them it seems.

EDIT:
Found one here:

If anyone else wants to input another place where to get it, it would be appreciated

I picked up a tru glo fat bead from bass pro a few years back. I installed it on my persuader and it has taken several hundred slugs with out issue. Really quick sight acquisition.

If I remember it was just under 20 bucks.

What's involved in replacing the factory bead sight with a blade?

Are we talking about grinding and welding here?
