No you haven't.
You've seen extensions for the Mossberg 590 magazine tube. Not at all compatible with a 500/88.
This is what a Mossberg 500/88 barrel attachment looks like. You'll notice that there's no possible way to extend a magazine tube beyond it.
I can't even begin to tell you where my 88 has been....It was bought when I was about 18, as I wanted a "bear gun"
It's been shot thousands of times with every type of ammo. It's been all over BC and Yukon on mountains and rivers and canoes and horses...FOr a few decades. I don't use it as a bear gun anymore, because I have better options, but it's one of the best things I spent $125 on.

Looks good. Saw one of these this past weekend for $420. It was the Mossberg 500 Persuader. I like the idea of not having to extend the tube.
Here is a Maverick 88 Security 8-shot model that I picked up from Prairie Gun Traders (out of stock) a few months ago for $250. I added an ATI stock to it. No magazine extension required.
