Maverick 88

I recently acquired a 12G 28" Maverick 88 from SIR and it came without the swivel bases.
The thing is I own another Maverick 88 (the short barrel one) and that one came with the swivel bases and pistol grip.

Now how come? I thought the "macho" defender wouldn't need a sling as opposed to the "hunter"!

My 18.5 88 did not come with pistol grip or sling swivels...I think it depends on the "package" being sold.

I didn't say sling swivels but rather swivel bases, you know, the small screws the swivels attach to. These and the pistol grip made it more expensive than the 28" barrel + choke.

Sorry, misunderstood...My 18.5 barrel isn't even drilled for the screw for the sling mounts...

Maybe it's a cut-back from Mossberg and costing too much to include the swivel bases and costs of drilling?
