Maverick Bulpup?

A friend of mine was offered a Maverick Bulpup 12g and he asked me if i knew anything about them. Well I had never seen one before so I ask the collective wisdom... How are these Shotguns to shoot and how well do they function? Also what would one in good condition be worth?

Any rifle, shotgun or carbine stock of the type known as the “bull-pup” design, being a stock that, when combined with a firearm, reduces the overall length of the firearm such that a substantial part of the reloading action or the magazine-well is located behind the trigger of the firearm when it is held in the normal firing position." (i.e.: only removable stocks are prohibited.
 
The Stock is a Prohibited Device... For a value Id say its worth a criminal record, and loss of all firearms privileges for your friend... Id tell your friend to stay away at all costs... Just my $0.02... :D
 
Ive seen a couple at the Colorado gunshows way back when, very flimsy stock in my opinion, sure it would work, but I wouldnt want to put it through its paces in any great deal thats for sure...
