Maverick to Mossberg

Just run the thing till the plastic forend breaks the action bars off, then get a metal slide tube assembly with whatever forend you want.

Then continue to run it even more.

They break in really nice, seem stiff when new but slick after a few crates of 12 gauge.

The cheap blue challenger shells seem a C hair too short and sometimes flip them selves around inside tbe receiver and stick out the bottom. You will have to remove the shell and put it back in...

I avoid this problem by not buying cheap challengers.

Yup, that's the plan... and I'm on the hunt for a old style action bar set

I have had two of the old and I deburred them, and rubbed every contact surface with some fine emery, then oiled them, and worked the heck out of them!
I got them so you could easily shuck them with one hand.

I've never had a mossberg flip a shell... I've experienced that with Remingtons, as has a friend. (and the 870's did jam a couple times... but my 500's NEVER jammed)
I find the answer to most shell issues is to cycle the action with some authority. I think a too slow cycle will cause problems with any pump.

As for cheap.... I go as cheap as I can!

well, just a follow up

I got my Mossberg, with an 18 inch barrel and a 28 inch barrel set up.

I purchased a Raptor grip from the EE

and I purchased a 14 inch barrel package from the THESE GUYS and I am happy with it.

this is a working firearm so the finish is not too relevant to me.

it appears to be parked, but it rubs off very easily, but no concern there for me either.

it fit just fine on my receiver, and I now have a shorty that is just over the legal length, and VERY Handy.

now to find a scabbard that fits over my back.

This unit will get LOTS of use!
