Max compressed load?

I've seen one reloading manuals that specce'd up to 107% max fill for a load.

What's too much compression? Assuming you don't run into over pressure, if you're staying with an extruded stick powder is it safe to run up to 110% if you use a 12-18" drop tube to help it settle?

Every rifle and calibre might react differently. I use compressed loads on some but always work up to it slowly watching for pressure signs. It's also wise IMHO to use new brass when getting close to max levels, you don't want to risk anything at that point. Tricky business, go slow, be careful.

Compressed doesn’t always mean high danger.
The cartridge and powder/bullet combination will dictate the outcomes.

Like these guys are saying, work your way up and watch for pressure signs. The most annoying issue I have using compressed charges is, if you use the minimum recommended .002 brass neck tension for a bolt gun, you have to seat the bullet a couple times to get the correct COAL. Or I have to adjust my seating die to account for the additional force of crunching the powder. Pain in the arse.
