Is there anyone here that has gone to a Maxus, from a BPS? My oldest, and favourite gun is my BPS 12ga. Fits me like a glove, and I shoot it great. I am considering buying a maxus, but I noticed the Maxus, has a flat rib, vs the raised rib on the BPS. I believe the BPS "shoots high", as I can "float" the bird above the bead. I assuming the flat ribbed Maxus, will not be the same?

My other consideration is for the SX3, as it has the raised Rib, and are known to "shoot high"

Really looking for someone that has gone from the BPS to one of these guns, to hear what they have to say.

Very Appreciated. Gix.:d

Yes the maxus is flatter shooting gun . If you look at the stock dimensions you will see the maxus has more drop at comb and heel . My advice is if at all possible try both guns or at least shoulder both be for you buy .

Your post is very timely. I just bought a Maxus and the BPS has been my "go to" gun for over 20 years. My test patterns indicates 68% over and 32% under with #9 shot. Essentially a 70/30 pattern. Very natural fit.
Also see new topic titled... Browning Maxus with Challenger shells.... which I will post on this forum and also in the Trap/Skeet forum.

I have patterned a friends Maxus, as well as my SX-3s, and the POI is very similar between them. A higher rib does not always mean a higher POI. I get a POI of between 60/40, and 50/50 with both guns, when the beads are inline, and the rib appears flat. If you set the gun up to stack the beads, the POI will be higher.
