Hi CGN,
I bought a Browning Maxus used off the EE and it didn't come with a plug. I put a piece of dowel in it for last fall's duck season, which works great. But one of the features of the maxus is the toolless plug removal and some tools are needed to remove the dowel.

Long story short, does anyone know where I can buy the proper plug for it?
Thanks,
Fivehundred

Any browning dealer should be able to order one. Never understood why people remove these and don't sell them with used guns.

I went through this with a versamax that was butchered and ended up needing a whole new mag tube and plug because someone decided to flatten out the detents to put one of those stupid mag extensions on.

Exactly, luckily the mag tube and detent weren't damaged, but it's a pain to get the detent pushed in to remove the dowel.

I'll try contacting a browning dealer.

I never cease to be amazed as to why people feel compelled to take the plug out of a hunting or target shotgun.

Your probably right, considering I've never removed the plug from any of my other shot guns, just thought if it was easy to remove it might be handy if I'm hunting grouse and get 3 or 4 in a pine tree.

If they don't fly off after the first three shots, they will likely stick around long enough to slide another round into the gun.

any place I have hunted you can't have more than 3 total in the gun. Might want to check that in your area.
