Threw some 50/70 straight walled cases in a pot with boiling water and soap to soften the bp fouling and dissolve any corrosive salts from the bp residue. Forgot to shut the stove off and walked away without thinking. Came back to a very dry and hot pot full of brass. Do I toss em? :( I threw em in my tumbler and they look and feel ok but I'm thinking they could have gotten annealed. I have no idea how long they were cooking after the water boiled off. I think I know the answer but thought I'd ask from someone who may have some firsthand experience.

Cheers

Yep, you already know the answer! Toss them, since you have no idea at this point how soft those cases may actually be. Not worth taking the chance. Although BP is a lower pressure propellant, if a case should rupture, you have a dangerous situation in front of your face. Regards, Eagleye.
