Soviet SKS. Late 1955 Tula. Matched with unmarked Russian receiver cover and magazine. Blued bolt and carrier. Shows an Israeli IDF property marking.
Captured in the '67 or '73 wars? Maybe taken in South Lebanon or in the Palestinian areas? If only they could talk.

Maybe issued to an Israeli backed militia in S. Lebanon? I wouldn't expect to see the property mark on a rifle that was merely captured. Nice find!

Possibly so. Who knows how may thousands of Warpac weapons were captured by the IDF?. Back in the good old CA days I had in my collection virtually unissued PMKMs, RPKs and AKMs that had come from South Lebanon.

The property marking would suggest some sort of offical use.

Apparently a weapon captured by Israel would get a small yellow sticker affixed to it with a space to fill in time and location of capture

A property stamp certainly seems to point to re-issue in the IDF

Gunplugger would know more...he has a piece with the yellow sticker

Vz-858-2

A very new and still unused VZ-858-2 "Tactical", with all the trimmings, bayonet and issue sheath, cleaning kit, mags, issue mag pouch and sling.
Got it from a friend for $650.00. Bought the folding stock from a notable CGN member.
Just can't wait to put it through its paces!:)
PP.

Not really a milsurp, but I did pick this up today specifically FOR my milsurp addiction - got tired of crappy macro pics of my rifles' markings and blurred edges on my full-length rifle shots from my old Canon Powershot A310, so I bought a new Olympus E330 DSLR :) Also have the adaptor on order so I can use my old OM series Zuiko macro lenses with it :)

And here is the NRF SMLE III* I picked up this week. (pic taken with the new camera and resized & color balanced in Photoshop CS3 ;)

Yeah, well, let's just say that the densely urban suburb I live in isn't the best place to drag milsurps out onto the porch for photo shoots ;)

~Angel~ just got this wonderful little piece if history .... :)

It's amazing to see all of these individual items from the 1940's, stamped with government ownership military "broad arrow" markings, including the individual cigarettes stamped "HM Forces".

well 2 so far, I still need to take pictures.

I got a Inglis BHP here, and everyone knows what they look like :)

but I picked up another bubba enfield, only because it had some interesting markings, (and it cost $50, but no mag) it's also Canadian C^A marked

its a 1917 BSA.Co matching bolt and reciever, but the barrel has a different serial number and is dated 1922, I still have to clean it up some more, perhaps tonight.
