Gentlemen,
...since the CMP is out of the M1 Garand Rifle I see a drop off on many of the M1 Garand Boards. It looks like they have slowed down. I also see a pickup in info and data on the M14's. Do you guys think this is just a small dip and will not last long, or do you think that the sharks have had their run and many of the guys are cutting back?? Also I think another part may be funding is not there for the higher Garand prices??
Drop a reply guys I would like to see what you guys thing about this.

Check out my sites if you have the time. Updates coming soon. TIA
Thanks again

My opinion is that the drop is temporary. Its going to go from 'what kind should I buy' to 'anyone got one for sale?'

I didn't know about the drop-off on forum boards in regards to the M1 Rifle, or that the CMP was out, but like with anything, the less there are, the more interest grows in something you have to work to get.

Id be willing to bet those m14 owners wnated a Garand 1st but went and got its cousin due to price or availability.

You got it...though they are buying "Norcs"...basically all that is available.
Once you shoot a Garand you will never be the same.
This "Garand Drought" happened about 12 years ago when the Garand supply dried up. All that was out there were boat oars. During this time I know a guy who bought an incredibly rare Garand variatiion. It was the "smoothbore 30-06" variant.
Kind of like the Springfield Forager shotgun. He eventually got it functioning well, after a truck load of cash and replacing every part on the gun except the receiver.
As for the current Garand drought....this too shall pass, rest easy everyone, and try not to buy the "smoothbore 30-06".
Cheers

I bought a IHC Garand about 15 years or so ago... I bought a Norc M305 about ten years ago... kept the Norc for 7 years or so, fun gun to shoot. Is it in the same class as a Garand? NFW. Not as accurate as my Garand with either factory or handloads. Oh sure, the Norc is accurate, but NOT as accurate as my Garand.

The Norc is a GOOD deal right NOW. But a Garand, it ain't.

I sold the Norc, kept the Garand.

The M1 does MY talking.
