If you had it coupled to a filter the whole thing is a different story. The coupler alone....... think what you want but that's a stretch.

As stated, any auto parts store sells bins of adapters. I have purchased many in order to make compressor fittings work. Sizing both up and down. There is nothing illegal about threaded adapters. Period. Screwing one to the end of your gun is no different than a thread protector. You can buy thread adapters for Sig Mosquito to use larger muzzle break or fake suppressor. Perfectly legal. Screw an oil filter on the end and you're screwed. Period.
