MBUS fold down sight question

On my Norinco CQ, with 10.5" barrel, I was wanting to remove the carry handle, install a Bushnell TRS red dot, and also a fold down rear site that will work with the existing A2 front sight. I also assume a small riser would be required. My questions are, will a Magpul MPUS fold down rear site be at an appropriate height to work with the existing front site?? What riser do I need for the RDS ? Should I worry about co-witnessing the RDS ?
Thanks in advance.
Tim

Most optics will co-witness if installed properly.

I recommend absolute co witness rather than lower 1/3.

Unless you install a flip up front sight as well, then I would go lower 1/3

I didn't want to tackle replacing the A2 front sight/gas block for now, so flip up rear sight only. Is there a standard riser height that will give me my co-witness ?

Keep in mind that if you're not competing then co-witnessing isn't necessarily a priority right now. Just keep it in mind if you can't find what you need to co-witness right away then don't be shy about getting out and shooting anyway.

Back to the sight/optics stuff...
First of all, thanks for the input so far. What I have come up with, is original A2 front sight, a Magpul MBUS flip down rear site, a Bushnell TRS 25, and the factory Busnell riser. My issue is, the rds appears to high, when looking thru the MBUS and front sight, it is at the VERY botton of the rds. In fact, the little part at 5 o clock on the bottom edge of the sight is starting to occlude the peep hole on the MBUS. I haven't tried to sight it in, but something seems not right.
Looking for help
Sorry for the crappy pics
Thx

The mount is likely creating a lower 1/3 co-witness which is why your irons are very low in the window of the TRS 25. You need a slightly shorter spacer/riser to achieve an absolute co-witness.

For sure that's what's happening, but I was expecting the factory riser from Bushnell to be set up at the correct height.
Looking for more feedback, is the Bushnell riser not the correct one? Can someone point me in the direction of a shorter one? At a guess, .5" lower?
I know there's a lot of guys who know more about this then I do, please chime in.
Thx
Tim
