Thanks for the reply. I did a bit of digging myself. Looks like the main differences are the profile, spring-locking front post, and both small and large rear apertures are on the same plane.
Couple of follow-up questions:
How much lower profile are the Gen II's? ( I don't remember, not much)
For most applications would I run into problems with using Gen I's? I plan on using them with a reflex/holo RDS. ( No, they will cowitness fine)
Is there any reason I can't/shouldn't order back-up sights from the states? As I cannot find these sights in Canada (Gen I or II, only the front sight at best) ( Shop your sponsors .. try Questar)
Does the Gen I front sight have a problem holding a consistent elevation? (no, it has a spring lock)
Does the rear sight allow elevation adjustment? If not, I assume that the ability for elevation adjustment is through the front post? (no and yes, use the front.
