MBUS Gen I or II?

Hey all,

Can anyone explain to me what the functional and otherwise differences are between the Gen I and Gen II MBUS?

If your talking Magpul ... the only difference is that the gen2 are less rounded and sit a bit flatter.

Thanks for the reply. I did a bit of digging myself. Looks like the main differences are the profile, spring-locking front post, and both small and large rear apertures are on the same plane.

Couple of follow-up questions:

How much lower profile are the Gen II's?
For most applications would I run into problems with using Gen I's? I plan on using them with a reflex/holo RDS.
Is there any reason I can't/shouldn't order back-up sights from the states? As I cannot find these sights in Canada (Gen I or II, only the front sight at best)
Does the Gen I front sight have a problem holding a consistent elevation?
Does the rear sight allow elevation adjustment? If not, I assume that the ability for elevation adjustment is through the front post?

One thing I will add is that the Gen1 are a lot easier to install than Gen2's (for some reason the Gen2's are really, really snug). The Gen1's have an easier "flip-up" action than the Gen2's, too. The standard front post/tool on the Gen2's is nicer, though.
