Anybody remember McCracken Bullets made by Al Murdoch in Calgary, AB?

Anybody still hoarding any?

I'm still holding on to about 500 .30 cal. 168gr. for my .308 Hunter Benchrest gun.

Al Mirdoch was a fine friend with a real sense of humour. He really enjoyed Benchrest shooting and introduced many people to this form of shooting .

One day at Namaka Al suggested that everyone fire a round on Eddie's target during the Warm up match -Eddie was outside getting his rifle and ammunition. There was ten shooters there that day. I was fire forming 6 PPC brass and only remembered Al's comment when I heard a very excited German voice saying "Someone just cross fired on my target !!!! "

By the time Eddie looked back in his scope there was lots of holes in his target now -everyone except me had quickly put a couple rounds on that target. .224 .243 .308 holes-Ha!

I still have a few yellow labled boxes of 22 caliber J-4 jacketed McCracken bullets and lots of great memories.

Terry McCracken was the original manufacturer! I went to school with Terry and we often hunted together. He started making bullets as a hobby with a Rock Chucker press that he got for Christmas. I was saddened when he left this world.

I shot with Al Murdoch and 3 of his daughters on the Rifleman's Rodeo circuit when it was still going strong. He was a good guy, and I shot away enough of his very fine .224/6mm bullets at varmints and targets to wash out a couple of barrels. Wish I had a couple thousand right now, they were good quality. Regards, Eagleye.
