i know it would be restricted because it has an 18" barrel, but what if i bought an aftermarket barrel that was 18.5 inches, would it still be restricted?

18.5" is good for non-restricted, but barrels manufactured at that length are hard to find right now.

I have a Norinco M305 I've been wanting to build on a project to a 18.5 shorty with a SMITH muzzle brake, USGI trigger, USGI bolt, Rauch Tactical spring guide, shim and bed it, mount a scope(undecided on what type), ARM's #18 and paint her in cadpat or woodland camo. Contact Corlane Sports as they're the folks who got me my McMillan a few years back ...
