McMillan MFS-14 allowed for Canadians?

Section 126.5 Exemptions for Canada.

(b) Permanent and temporary export of defense articles.

Except for the defense articles and related technical data, and defense services identified in paragraphs (b) (1) through (20) of this section, for exports that transit third countries, and provided the requirements of this subchapter are met, (to include Sec. 120.1 (c) and (d), parts 122 and 123 (except insofar as exemption from licensing requirements is herein authorized) and Sec. 126.1, and the requirement to obtain non-transfer and use assurances for all significant military equipment), District Director of Customs and postmasters shall permit, when for end-use in Canada by Canadian Federal or Provincial governmental authorities acting in an official capacity or by a Canadian-registered person or return to the United States, the permanent and temporary export to Canada without a license of defense articles and related technical data identified in Sec. 121.1 of this subchapter, except as described in paragraphs (b)(1) through (20) of this section, and the defense services and technical data described in paragraph (c) of this section. For purposes of this section, ``Canadian-registered person'' is any Canadian national (including Canadian business entities organized under the laws of Canada), dual national, and permanent resident registered in Canada

Which means as long as section 123 is met (which Exemptions For Canada listing the 500$ part limit and they are not restricted parts such as receivers, barrels, and the like) then the allowed end user is any Canadian Federal or Provincial authority acting in official capacity or any registered Canadian National. So yes the 500$ limit E-Gun parts lists and 123.17 does as well does indeed apply to the average Canadian Joe. :)

Now E-Gunparts does list the models restricted for export that require paperwork no matter what exemption value is like the M14 is restricted. But I haven't been able to find specific regulations or written policies on that. :(

Neat thing is though the M16 AND the AR-15 are restricted and need paper work for everything, but the M1A is not restricted even though the M14 is. So if it was possible for M1A to be stamped/labeled on everything instead of M14/M1A which requires paperwork as they added the M14. It would be alot easier for us to get parts. But don't think thats happening anytime soon. :(

i'll have an AR accessory buttstock/grip compatable fiberglass stock, same appearance as the usgi fiberglass, basically similar to the macmillan mfs-14 and the Viron 103

AND
a standard profile Gi type stock with an AR machined aluminum pistol grip mount, standard Gi style buttstock (similar to the davegp style)

finishing touches are underway and "at the range" testing for both have been underway for a little over a week. My guinea pigs are reporting very favorable results so far with testing the stocks...... end of April looks like the release date ballpark.

well.... this is the first version of my AR accesorized M14 fiberglass stock
Has machined aluminum AR grip mount for use with your favorite AR grip.
whaccha think O this baby :D (this is a prototype... and i have one listed in the part ee :D )

this stock will be availlable with AR buffer tube mount as well..... but ..... not ready to show the world yet. (end of april for that one)

as for rails...... I'm not a fan of having rails hangin everywhere..... my goal is to keep it light, functional and ROCK solid. I can add a rail under the forgrip for bipod..... but...... I probably won't bother unless requested.

Got a price estimate on the Buffer tube model?

Edit: Also a couple of other questions,

1) Will it require bedding with a SAI M1A rifle?

2) How about a folding buffer tube model. :dancingbanana:

I am working from the Jerry Kuhnhassen M14 gunsmith/armourers .30 cal service rifle book and adhering to the stock specifications/tolerances there in.
My stocks will be made for the semi auto only m14 type rifles and minimal bedding will be required. I can guarantee a nice tight fit to the norinco actions.... and further bedding would be optional.

**** AS per my arrangement with site admin...... I can discuss my stocks and throw ideas out there... but pricing and such will have to wait untill I have dealer status. I am hoping and still on target to acheive dealer status and start taking orders at end of April/beginning of May.
pricewise I do aim to beat the competition.... ie Viron, Mcmillan...... ect
The biggest bonus to canadians will be..... I will ONLY SHIP within Canada ...... so, no import crap to deal with , proudly made for Canadians..... by a Canadian :D

Well if you fallow that there shouldn't be a problem then for the M1A!

Atleast I never heard of a M1A that didn't fit in a USGI spec stock, after all SAI's synthetic stocks are simply surplus USGI. :)

I was thinking exactly that; rail for a biopd and maybe a light...
