Now that I have my Sako M85 Finnlight, I set on getting a McMillan stock. For those who have ordered them, what kinda of price am I looking at (or alternatively, what did you pay)?

I'm leaning towards the Sako Classic (in Edge Technology if I can) in the 2-tone speckletone granite paint pattern with pre-installed pillars AND limbsaver recoil pad.

Thanks in advance.

They are $518 at the 24hrcampfire gear shop, plus $50 for shipping and permits. The edge tech stocks come with pillars installed. When they get to you, you may or may not have to pay the taxes at the post office.

Ive ordered 8 or 9 and paid tax on all but 3. Hit and miss. Still worth the $$ in my view. Wait times are 3-4 months, but you dont have to pay 100% up front, so could put $100 a month down...

order right from mcmiilian 480$

McMillan charges $578 for the EDGE stocks direct. Much cheaper at 24hr. as Rick sells a pile of them and gets them cheaper.

They charge $488 for standard fill direct, not EDGE. But at 24hr the standard stocks are $438.

Blargon has it covered 100%.

You can order direct from McMillan, but Rick at 24hour will give you a better deal. He's a great guy to work with. Base prices are on the website, end cost depends on what you add.

So you are able to order from them without any difficulty? Do you get dinged with any type of UPS brokerage fees? If I may ask, what was the total owing when you did have to pay taxes at the post office?

I am looking at ordering a McMillan stock, but I'm just a bit concerned with the hassle involved. Am I able to call this Rick gentleman and ask questions?

Thanks for the help.

It'll be shipped USPS, not UPS. There's no duty as it's made in the US. Last one I got had taxes and fees of about $70.

Someone here may know the exact numbers, but IIRC you'd pay GST/PST/HST on declared value plus a Customs handling fee.

Yes, you can call Rick Bin for questions @ 626-627-6362. Ordering is easy, create acct at the 24hr gear shop, and there is an online form to fill out regarding which pattern, inlet, etc. if you need any help with it you can pm me.

No brokerage fees. The price of the stock, plus $25 for shipping and $25 for the export permit, they do the work.

Taxes at the post office will be your tax like you pay anywhere. In Ontario its 13% hst. Like I said, sometimes you pay nothing, depends if customs lets it slide or not.

Thank you for the clarification. I was burned once with UPS brokerage fees on a purchase from the US; my own fault for not researching correctly...

Thank you very much for the assistance, I will have a look right now. I may have to take you up on your offer to help should I run into problems, lol.

I don't recall a $25 export fee? I was only charged $25 shipping and recall the USPS sticker on the parcel reading $42.xx or so for shipping, so it seems we're paying less than actual.

To the OP, you can also check on McMillan's website, they do have some in stock which you don't have to wait for. If you're not too picky about style/color that is.
