Looks like my stock has finally arrived. ITs a Super grade configuration in fibreglass for a new model 70 in .270 win. I have been offered a chance to get it epoxy bedded. The gun is for hunting only. I am not sure if I should get it bedded or not. Any recommendations here>? Thanks

You could shoot it first,it may not need bedding although I have bedded all my McMillans. How do you like the Supergrade? It's a nice stock but I cannot like the flat bottom on the forend. Mur

Havent shot it, its been sitting in a box since January. I was waiting for a custom NEAR alpha scope mount to show up. Took awhile to get it done.

Is there any negative to bedding say used in extreme cold or similar? Does it add any weight? Or is the amount of epoxy used very small?

I would bed it. It won't hurt that's for sure. Also if you bed it now then you can start your load development and figure out what works knowing that bedding isn't a variable you need to worry about. Better now than after a hundred rounds down the tube trying to get a load to work and then have some one tell you to bed your rifle to help with accuracy.

yeah I have a forster press and all the books and ammo and all needed supplies. Its all sitting there for ages. Will be nice to get finally started.

Ok Ill get it bedded. Thanks guys

Here is a McMillan for a Model 70 I bedded a month or so ago. This is what you need, it can't hurt and the amount of epoxy used is minimal.
