Looks like we can't buy stocks directly from McMillan or 24hourcampfire anymore.

McMillan's website:

Do you ship out of the United States? We CANNOT ship stocks outside the United States at this present time (8/6/14)

I got one of the last ones shipped directly to me 2 weeks ago. McMillan was shipping everything they could before the notice from the State Department about export changes... they other one they have for me will have to go though import/export licensed dealers. I believe ATR in Calgary will be one of several doing it. Stock cost will end up being slightly more. I posted this info a while ago.

Important Notice: August, 2014
Due to recent determinations at the US Department of State, McMillan Fiberglass Stocks now require an export license to ship fiberglass stocks internationally. An export license may cost up to $250.00 US Funds. McMillan understands that there may be varying country requirements and wishes to make the export process as painless as possible, but you can use your own exporter.

To export out of the US you will need to purchase an export license and certain countries also require an import license, which we will need a copy of it. If an import license is not required, then a document must be signed stating so. The export license is usually valid for 1 year and it can be for one stock or for multiple stocks (open license) being shipped to the same address.

McMillan has an onsite export manager with experience in exporting internationally. Additionally, we have agreements with several international partners in various countries that can facilitate the export process.

I am trying to get everything ship as soon as it becomes ready because we have not received the official letter from the State Dept. yet, should be here any day now. (The order placed in January has been shipped) This notice is for any future orders and the order you placed in March that has not shipped.

We are arranging to have several Dealers in Canada act as Importers for us, but do not have all the details and costs yet. This is all new to us, so once I have more info I will start contact customers to let them know their options; please bear with us.

The US State Department screwing everyone but the terrorists... what a bunch of idiots running it.

I ordered one directly from McMillan over the phone in August with no problems.

Ordering is no problem... you can still order all you want... McMillan just can not ship anything right now... in 6 months when your order is ready it will probably be sorted out.

I ordered a stock directly from them on Jan 6 / 14. On Aug 22 I was told the stock would be ready to ship within a week. As of now I have not seen a shipping notice or credit card charge. I can only assume it's caught up in this BS and I'll be getting dinged for extra import / export.

Sounds like they don't want the M-14's in Serbia or the Ukraine somebody posted the pictures of the other day using McMillan stocks.

Rick Bin from 24 hr just answered me and they will ship to any USA adress.

McMillan will or 24hourcampfire will? I think Rick B. meant 24hourcampfire will ship. That's how I interpreted his email yesterday.

I'm guessing here, but I wouldn't want to be checked by DHS leaving the U.S.A. with a new McMillan stock in my vehicle.

Definitely disappointing. It was so nice to order your own stock, not pay at times ridiculous mark ups, and know its been ordered.

Depending how bad the new import charge will be I wonder if they will be offering refunds on deposits already paid...

Eager to hear what they come up with for this.

My response from Rick at 24hourcampfire:

Yes. They dropped that bomb on us and we are awaiting a decision from them as to what they are going to do about existing orders.

Obviously, if the worst happens I will personally issue you a refund, and I can do that immediately if you prefer.

But at the moment, we are hopeful that McMillan will provide a satisfactory solution for existing orders.

Sorry for the bad news. I wish there was more I can do, but this is entirely out of my hands.

We should know something soon.
