The McMillans are lighter, but more importantly, they have many more options as far as stock shapes and dimensions. No stock fits me better than their Remington BDL pattern.

I really like all the mcmillans I have, but the price they are demanding for them now is pretty steep. I recently purchased an A5 from ATRS for a heafty sum but it was what I wanted and I didnt want to wait. You won't be disappointed with the McMillan, but your gonna pay for it.
I bought the Hunter's Edge in the McMillan Hunter configuration. The fit and finish of the stock is excellent. When I bought the stock you could only get the edge in a solid colour, so I went with black. I had mine shipped to my front door. That was in Jun of 2014 though.

McMillan, yes you will pay more for it than most others, but if you break it accidentally, they will ship you a new one for free! I broke a FClass stock (don't ask, stupid cart race in Ottawa from 700 to 800m) and I called Kelly directly and it came in 10 days. You could drive over it with your tank and they will still replace it. Great company, stands behind they products! I have the following non-wood stocks on my rifles; McMillan FClass, Robertson/Speedy FClass, McMillan HBR, and Brown Precision HB.

I was thinking the same thing. I've wanted a Robertson stock since I got into shooting but it's really not a possibility unless the exact stock I want shows up on the EE. Doesn't help the op (or anybody else) at all. On the flip side I am very happy with my McMillians. The price sucks but everything in this hobby / sport is pricey.

My 2 Mcmillans have cost a pretty penny, but they are keepers and I'm most happy with their quality. Buy once, cry once. Now I have them to fondle for as long as I keep the boomsticks!
I've owned HS Precision, USGI Glass stocks, B&C stocks and by far the keepers (ones still remaining) are the Mcmillan stocks.
Get what works for you and your game!

I have a bunch of HS Precision, Bell and Carlson and Wildcat stocks. I recently purchased 2 McMillans to see what all the fuss was about (and because it was hard to find someone else who made a stock for my Sako 75).
I bought a ton of Bell and Carlsons when the Canadian dollar was good and it was easier to import them. I havent had any issues with them to speak of. For the price, I think they're a pretty good deal.
The HS's I have are all pretty much take-offs. I like them as well but the ones I own are definately a beefier stock. Not something I'd want to carry around hunting. I think the Wildcats are a real gem
if they inlet for the rifle you have and you dont mind doing some finishing work. That kind of work is right up my alley so it works for me. The quality is excellent and the price is great as well.
The McMillans are really nice. Fit and finish is top notch for sure. The barreled action dropped right in. No issues. The warranty is nice if you drive over your stock or break it but honestly, for me anyways,
I can buy a lot of replacement stocks for the additional price you pay for the McMillans. They inlet for a ton of different actions which is nice.

Basically my thoughts aswell. If it's a stock nobody else produces I buy mcmillan. But at their price point even that is getting harder to justify. Especially with companies like Wildcat producing lighter stocks here in Alberta for reasonable money.
