Mcmillan

Alberta Tactical Rifle is a dealer I believe. I ordered an A-5 directly from McMillan. There are so many options available, I ordered exactly what I wanted and went right to the source. Great customer service to.

JW Precision - John Wall - He's a member here and a McMillan dealer as well - Canadian to boot.

Awesome to deal with and has them in stock in certain configurations as well.

Cheers, Carl

So is response to that, ordering directly from mcmillan doesnt violate any canada customs crap importing blah blah stuff I take it or do they mail it under a different item name. Also how long did it take you to get it.

I got mine direct, if you are serious and not just wasting bandwidth, call them up, and be prepared to wait 6 months.

The reality is that by law, McMillan is required to obtain an export license and you are required to obtain an international import certificate.

They don't bother and nobody seems to care. You run the risk of having the stock seized by the US DofS, but since I have not heard of it happening...

If you want to be 100% leagal and 100% guaranteed of getting what you pay for, use a CDN importer.

Yep.... 6 months, my last one was only 4 BUT you can order exactly what you want.

Over regulated Canadians.

If you go hunting and use a vehicle and boat to get to where you want to Hunt, how many licenses are required, in total???????
The way I look at it, by the time I get up in the morning and do the 3s's, I'm sure I've broken some law somewhere, so for the rest of the dayI don't worry about adding to it.
Take care Bill

I know of lots of people that have ordered direct. Me, I'm too paranoid of losing such a pricey item (among other things) so I do things nice and legal like.

In this case, it isn't Canada's laws you need to worry about. Messing with laws that control US exportation of "significant weapon parts" with the Dept of State, Homeland Security, "Do-not-fly" lists and all the xenophobic ultra-nationalism going on, the risks come when you want to visit or fly-over the US. They are not a bunch to be trifled with in my book, ....but like I said, lots of folks do it every day.

Besides, with Robertson stocks, I think we have a Canadian product just as good...:D

Mcmillan has all the f**king required bulls**t paperwork, just order direct geez

Suffice it to say, you clearly haven't a clue what is involved in requiring "all the f**king required bulls**t" paperwork. Take caution in what you counsel others to do.

+1 to what Ian said, just Call Rick at ATRS, there are regular shipments coming in from McMillan weekly - if he doesnt have what you want exactly, he can get it for you.... Legally too! :D

ATRS is alberta tactical Im guessing, would it be cheaper going directly from mcmillan or goin with the middle man, depending on the risk it might be worth the dollars

Well I placed my order last year with Mcmillan, ask about shipping the stock to Canada etc, asked all the worry questions that everyone here has. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE AN EXPORT PERMIT TO CANADA!!!!!!!!! along with a s**t load of other countrys. So unless things have changed in a year, then buy from a Canadian supplier. So Obtunded, your'e right I don't have a clue:rolleyes:
