So I came across these guys while prepping a .300 WM long range hunting build. Has anyone had any first hand contact? Ive heard very good and very bad things, trying to find the truth of the matter before I commit. Seems affordable, solid and waaaaay quicker and cheaper than some big time names, especially as the CAD sucks right now.
Thoughts?

My general rule of thumb is to avoid any place that has bad reviews. Way too many reputable companies to stick to, not worth taking the chance.

I know a few people that have been burned by trying to go the cheap and/or easy route. Just ends up costing a lot more money in the long run.

Wow - clearly there are better options.

While I really like the McM A5 I have used the much, much cheaper B&C version and really they are not bad stocks at all.

Thanks for the honest review, Warwick! I was hoping I could keep it Canadian, but such is life I suppose. I appreciate it, Ill be looking at some McMillan A5s and Ashbury chassis soon, and I'm very glad I took the time to ask. It definitely would have been a bad burn.
Cheers,
Rob

Interested in Bell&Carlson ? I'm very happy with mine.

Ive played HS and B&C a little bit, and Ill probably use them for a varmint rifle in the future, but Im in a talk with some lads for a McMillan or Adhbury at the moment. If that doesn't pan out, Ill have to take a look!

I was chatting with a LE precision shooter I am friends with, he told me about greyboe. Apparently that's owned by the original guys that made McMillan or something like that? Apparently they make phenominal stuff too.

I ordered some pillars for bedding my Rem 700 a few years ago and they were the wrong size. I called and he resent me another set which were also the wrong size so I just cut my losses and used some elbow grease and emery cloth to get them to fit properly. I now make my own on the lathe and will not likely purchase a stock from him based on past experience.
