MDT ACC (Adjustable Core Competition) Chassis @ SHOT 2019

I used to own an MDT ESS Ultimatum deadline inlet with the action going in it.
It would basically be the same inlet than R700, with what seemed like some extra clearance for trigger and lowered mag catch.

Lowered mag catch is a pain.
Bolt is so fat you need to clear those mags.
So having the mag lower means the 308 ammo (my guess is a 6.5 profile could help) would hit the feedramp.
I could tune the mag so that bullet hits the ramp but not hard enough to hang up.
Then i could only run tuned mags, that we’re sensitive to spitting ammo out if knocked around.
That’s my experience at least, but then again i am stubborn sometimes.

and that's exactly why I changed my mind about purchasing one. Was very interested for awhile.

That's a big part of it. I have no clue why Ultimatum made the bolts so thick. An answer looking for a solution. And it creates a ton of headaches with fitment issues.

You mean Rem 700 and Ultimatum inlet? The Ultimatum needs a slightly different inlet than a Rem 700 or clone. I run a R700, a Defiance and a Nucleus in ACCs with no issues, the Ultimatum isn't a true "clone" though.

Yessir. I understand the differences. I don't own a Ultimatum, but shoot with guys and friends who do. They've been stuck with a $1000+ chassis, that they can't use, for weeks/months. With the ESS, and early on with the ACC, it was pitched as only requiring a Deadline specific mag latch. A minor tweak if that were the case, IMO. Which it was with the ESS... Not so with the ACC, for whatever reason the ACC M700 inlet also hangs up on the trigger hanger of the Deadline and is completely unusable.

I like and support MDT- they're a great Canadian company- and really like the ACC so far. But MDT messed up on this one, and so far haven't handled it all that well, IMO.

Is it because the ultimatum uses a fatter bolt?

That's part of it. Usually only requiring a special mag latch. But the inlet on the ACC was changed enough that fitment of the Deadline is a bigger issue. My one buddy was considering dremelling his out to fit, but decided against butchering up his brand new chassis. :)
