MDT HS3 Magazine Catch

Got my HS3 in the mail last week and I noticed if I hold my rifle on its side and insert and detach a mag the Mag catch retaining pin starts to walk out, it is also very easy to push the pin out you can do it with the tip of a pen with little effort. Anyone else have this problem ? I emailed MDT yesterday so hopefully they will respond on Monday with a solution.

Yeah, I had the same problem. So I removed the pin, and then pinched a notch exactly in the middle of it. Re-inserted it, and haven't had any issues since.

you pinched the pin ? I was thinking of replacing the factory pin with a spring pin.

Yes, with small side cutters. You have to be careful not to collapse the pin. I had to do it in the field. While not an ideal solution, it hasn't worked itself out since. I think your solution of a spring pin would be a better fix.

Don't know why MDT went the way they did with the magazine catch retaining pin. It's not very secure, definitely needs to be addressed.
