MDT system

but a stock that fits is a good investment in my eye too, but i dont think many of these will sell at that price

You're right a stock is an important part of the rifle, it's worth investing in a quality stock. That being said, the MDT is $900 bucks and does not need bedding, the fit is like a latex glove. The engineering involved in the design of this platform is quite amazing.

How about McMillan or AI offerings, still half the price with the same results. IMO there's no need to reinvent the wheel here and I doubt the Cadex system is a game changer, it still resembles a normal design and nothing too cutting edge.

Theres only so many ways to mount a receiver to a stock. I'm going to take a guess and say Cadex isnt really going after the civi market too hard here, if they wanted to sell these systems surely they'd know they are priced out of the market.

My 2 cents

I saw the mdt when it was being dog and ponied at certain bc events, the only regret is not being on the initial group buy. Argh.

Stock fit is absolutely critical to precision shooting and far too little effort is spent by shooters making this fit as good as it can be.

Almost no effort is made on rifle balance which can be even more important in a field rifle.

But stocks dont need to cost a small fortune to work perfectly.... AS A STOCK.

All of the chassis and alum stocks are NOT about the stock but more about all the stuff that can be hung off the stock.

Complex, heavy and lots of ways to catch on stuff BUT if the mission requires a zillion doo dads to be hung off to light, blaze, aim, signal, make coffee with, then these are great designs.

The MDT does offer some very nice ergonomics and human engineering to go along with the bells and whistles that personally, I have little use for.

And there is nothing nicer then sliding behind a rifle that truly fits me when I am trying to drive them all into one hole.

YMMV,.
