MDT TAC 21 chassis with a Stiller action???

Just wondering if any has, or knows of anyone who has, used a Stiller action(tactical or predator) in an MDT TAC21 chassis?

I've read their short action's (.308, .223) are a drop in replacement for the Rem 700 actions. This leads me to beleive it should work, but I don't want to drop $900 on a stock to find out it won't work.

I'm guessing the drop in part means the base of the action is the same, but what about the rest of it? I understand there isn't much room around the action once installed in the TAC21.

What to do?

You're probably best to go to the source for this one. Contact Laszlo at MDT and either give him exact dimensions of your Stiller or you could send it to him for a test fit. He's a good guy, easy to deal with.

I did some digging around and the MDT stock will work with a Surgeon action so if it will take a surgeon I am very confident it will fit a stiller.

I have a stiller Tac-30 right now and while I can't do any measurements as I'm away from home I would be pretty confident in its compatibility.

I sent an e-mail earlier today to Laszlo but I figured I would try here as well.

The problem is I don't have a Stiller action yet. So it's kinda the chicken or the egg scenario...buy the action and hope it fits the stock...or buy the stock to find I can't use an aftermarket action.

It's good to hear the Surgeon works, so maybe I'll have to look at that as well.

Pierce actions are also drop in fit for a remington, but guess what, did not fit!! Was an issue with the bolt handle but cannot remember the details now. Might've been straight versus swept handle?
