Compared to an AICS, McMillan, or any of the other DBM chassis/stocks, the price of the MDT is on the lower end..............Seems you are trying to compare Precision tactical rifles with semi-auto black rifles..........it's apples and oranges............. ;)

Would a generous helping of blue loctite fix that kind of problem? I mean, not just on the threads of the screws, but actually where the chassis comes together... does loctite even work like that?

I don't think this complaint is about the chassis itself. That would be the first we ever hear this. All pieces are very precisely machined. However it probably has to do with the lever. On the older lever style we do have some that come loose after a few shots, and we have worked hard to fix this.

The lever you see in the beginning of this thread is the second last lever we designed to eliminate the lever coming loose. The first lever could come loose with recoil, where as the latest lever locks different, and is designed to tighten with recoil.

We did come up with an upgrade to that lever a few weeks ago. Same locking mechanism, but a better look. Here are some pictures of the latest lever.

However, Loctite can certainly be used on keeping the screws in place!
 
I've used a gen 1 on my varmint rifle for a couple of seasons now, no complaints whatsoever, the difference it made in accuracy was instantly noticeable, the kit went together easily and everything fit tightly, I haven't had to re-tighten anything or had any problems with it.
I find the fit and feel of it perfect for my shooting style and the adjustments afforded by the AR-style buttstock very welcome.
I bought an AICS stock for my 5r, but didnt like the feel of it and ended up with another TAC 21 (gen 2 this time). Again everything went together smoothly and tightly, love the new lever system for the buttstock. Just waiting on a couple of final parts for it, cant wait to get out shooting with it
 
the new lever system is huge improvement.
Regarding cost, one of the biggest benefits this chassis gives you is bottom metal. If you look at the cost to just buy a bottom metal kit and have it installed in your standard (or other) stock, you're looking at about the same price as Tac21. But then you get a ton more with the chassis, free float, rails, 20 MOA rail on top of the receiver etc etc. You don't get that with the bottom metal kits.
 
I have the Gen 1 Chasis and its a pain to remove the buttstock for cleaning. Can I upgrade the end cap that has the swivel release?
