Just thought I'd use this opportunity for some free advertising ;)

Got my LSS today and had to share :D

My bolt release was in the trigger guard, so I had to shave off about 1/8" to the release bar to get it to fit in properly (Kudos to Dilligaf)

Main use is going to be for hunting off hand and not off the bench :)

Thank you MDT!!

Still waiting on a proper mount, and bipod, but I am way to anxious to get out and break everything in tomorrow! I know some guys don't like the long barrels, but I love the look. The lightness of the chassis offsets the weight of the barrel. Overall I think I got exactly what I wanted!

I should also add that there is two fitment concerns that might help other people (as my rifle is a Stevens 200). I wouldn't consider any of these a fault with the chassis, as it fits amazing, just might help someone who is looking to build off of a 200.

One: the factory trigger will either need to be replaced, or the chassis clearanced. The trigger weight adjusting screw will hit the chassis when installed. Very minimal contact, but it will make it impossible to pull the trigger. I would imagine the chassis was designed with an accutrigger model. Not sure if the other non-accutrigger Savages would have the same issue, but I would imagine they would. I doubt this will be much of an issue, as most people going as far as a chassis build, probably have an upgraded trigger. I have a Timney on mine, I just happened to leave that screw in the action (it doesn't do anything at this point), which is why I noticed it.

And two: My EGW recoil lug would not allow the action to be dropped in. The machined area that the recoil lug falls into isn't wide enough. I don't mean it's a thickness issue, but the actual width of the area isn't wide enough (the EGW lug is wider than the factory one, not just thicker). Again, not really an issue with the chassis, as it was designed around a factory rifle, not one with aftermarket components (I'm assuming), but something that may hinder some people's installs.

That being said, I am VERY happy. Fit and finish is great, action fits nice and snug, and it has no problem fitting my 1" OD heavy barrel (mind you that is about the limit). Ergonomics are great, and the overall simplicity is awesome. I also think the way they allowed for both action bolt pattern fitments is genius, as it seems simple and effective. For the price point, I don't think much compares.

Fyn,
nice setup, I'm still waiting for mine (for a target action).
With a long/stiff barrel the rig maybe "nose heavy" as the CRT is quite light.
Which cheek rest did-you use, 3/4 or 1/2" ?

Rifles look great. Does anyone know if there is a chassis that would accommodate a long-action Savage?
We're almost done with it. If we push hard, we just may have it ready before Christmas.... but our machines are very busy so it could run into January.

LSS Tikka T3 received.

Before, a Supervarmint 222rem, 20" Barrel, Muzzle Threaded.

The buttstock will be probably be changed.

It doesn't take long for my buttstock change.

A modified PRS is good for me.

I did a quick job to test the fit. Tested and approved at the range.
Now I'll have to file some corners for a smooth transition and a better look.
