MDT vs KRG

Will MDT be have the capacity to fulfill the many requests inbound for Black Friday? This will be my first BF with them.

Depends what it is as well. Their black friday sale is usually also a "blemish" sale. Not that i've ever found a mark on any item i've ever got from them through that sale, everything has looked brand new. So on some items its first come first serve, so be quick. Stock moves fast, if you see what you want, buy it and don't hesitate or it'll be gone.

I the past it’s been pretty good I picked up a few mags last year and will be doing the same this year. I was after a chassis but sadly they don’t make the magazine footprint I am after in LH so unless there is a wicked deal on them I likely won’t as single feed can get annoying sometimes but we shall see because Money Talks.

I'm after a Field stock for a Rem 700 SA. It sells for $370 at Cabelas and I can get 5% off with my veteran discount and no shipping cause they are just down the road from me.

That means the Black Friday sale price would need to be less than $330 (plus GST and shipping) to make it a better option than Cabelas.

I bought gift cards last week to get 10% off a chassis if the Black friday sale doesn't pan out at MDT
MDT stock needs to be at least 25% off to make it worth purchasing through them.

I just bought one a MDT Field Stock for a RH Tikka from the equipment exchange. It is for a build I am putting together for my dad. Feels a lot more solid than I thought it would. The only cons I noticed so far is the edge of the fore end, where it meets into the barrel channel seems very thin. It is almost sharp. I don’t know if I am explaining it great. Also, I wish the butt end had a bit more weight for better balance with the barrelled action I put in it. The barrel is a 24” Viking MTU. I think it would be perfectly balance in a REM Sendero contour. I own 3 MDT XRS Chasis and 2 KRG Bravo’s. I build this for my dad who is primarily a hunter so the added weight and cost of the other two is what steered me to this stock.

Friend bought a mdt oryx stock for his Bergara. The recoil lug doesn’t even make contact to the aluminum bedding and it’s only the action bolts that is acting as the recoil lug under recoil and you can see were it has been moving under recoil. Not impressed for a stock at this price

I have several custom Rem 700 rifles with extra thick recoil lugs. The KRG Bravo accepted those rifles no problem. The MDT Field stock needed to have its recoil lug pocket enlarged in order to accept the large recoil lug.

Thankfully I have the proper equipment and knowledge to do that work correctly. I also get that my rifles are not standard and so can't always expect parts to fit.

I have both but I prefer my krg. I do prefer the forehand of the mdt.

My mdt xrs pings when I shoot it with a 308. It's very annoying to hear the shot ring through it every time. I rarely shoot it anymore because of that... I have a field stock coming, it will also be on a 308, I'm hoping it doesn't suffer from the same problem.... never had that problem with my krg stocks...

I am building a 6 mm Creed with an XRS chassis. I had a couple of these in various calibers with know issue. I have always liked them.

This is the first time I have heard of this issue. When I have used these chassis before they had the fore end and rear spacer weights. Wondering if that helps any pinging sounds.

I added weights on the front already and also added rubber tape along the edges but it still pings unfortunately. I'm not sure if it's just the one i have...

What about adding rubber or silicone m lock inserts or panels? Don’t forget to check all the rifle screws occasionally. I have the adjustable but pad installed on mine. The screws behind it like to loosen up over time.
