Measurement question, handguards/barrel/muzzle device

So I'm going for a specific look with a build and without handling the parts I want to make sure I order correctly.

I've decided on a 10.5 inch barrel. I want to order a keymod handguard and add a flaming pig most likely. The look I'm going for is to have the pig protrude only half inch max out of the handguard. Would I put it on 10.5 barrel with 12in handguard? Even if edge of pig is very close to end of handguard that's good also I've got specon it all but I just saw a 10.5 with a 12in guard and the muzzle goodies are protruding quite a bit further. Anyone have this look or provide details? Thanks
 
I don't know the answer but also just picked up a 10.5" barrel and want to use a key mod handguard of some sort as well. So not to high jack, but perhaps to better clarify, does anyone know if the handguard length directly corresponds with barrel length? Ie. Will a 10.5" handguard be flush with the muzzle end of a 10.5" barrel (not accounting for the flash hiders or other muzzle devices used)? That is what I was counting on in determining my next steps.

This is a 10.5" barrel on a Noveske NSR 11" rail with a KX-5 Flaming Pig.
There is exactly 2.07" of pig showing.

If this is the look you are going for you will need the Noveske 8.5" Navy barrel and the 11" NSR handguard.
 
That is the look I'm going for exactly. (second one) Thanks for the pics and info. To accomplish that look in a longer barrel with that math I need to have a handguard 2.5 in longer than my barrel. I was looking at aero keymod 13in on a 10.5 barrel. I have to check inside diameter obviously to see if it fits but for that look I'm seeing a 2.5 inch difference in the two components. If I'm missing anything fill me in. Thanks again for pics that nailed it

That first pic looks like a home shot. Beautiful rifle. I think I have ar-itis. I itch when I think about them and keep configuring different ones in my head and have almost finished the Internet looking at parts

My goal was to make it look like the second one but getting a Noveske Navy barrel into Canada would have made it a $700 barrel.
