I just measured DT SRS-A1 my chamber using the Hornady tools.

In my 308 with a 175 gr Berger vld I got 2.125" to ogive with oal of 2.795".

I'm assuming that I shouldn't load shorter than 2.800". that would give me 5 thou jam when I need 10 thou jump. What the heck do I do?

2.800 just so happens to be maximum length that will fit in the magazine, other then that it is a useless number in the real world. Going to a lighter bullet could result in a COAL of 2.425

Hmm, this is weird I think Im not measuring it right... I measured it about 6 times, since my rifle is bullpup the rear end is extremely long I could barely tighten the brass nut on my straight OAL gauge. Same measure within 0.02-0.03", I stuck my dewey rod down the bore and tapped the OAL gauge until it got stuck, tapped the cleaning rod, back and forth until I could barely feel it "jam". Yet I loaded a round to 2.800" smoked it and not a single mark. Loaded one out to 2.910 not a single mark, loaded it out to 2.938" and it jammed it back to 2.918". When it was jammed I could barely close/open the bolt.

Hopefully I can find someone to would be willing to trade an angled OAL gauge for a straight one. I only used mine 2 times now...

I have the angled OAL hornady gauge. Are you going to the BCRA practice on the 26th? I can bring it with me or if you need it sooner you can borrow it by mail.

Considering the 350$ expense to get out there, probably not. I'm all tapped out for the next couple months haha. I wonder if there's a practice at chilliwack before the match. Probably won't get the invite due to joining the wrong region. I may have to take you up on the borrow by mail, I have a canada post SMB account # for the discount Ill PM you.

Well, I feel pretty stupid. I totally forgot that I can take the barrel out of my rifle in 60 seconds. Took it out, did about 10 measures and got ~2.230" as OAL touching lands. Sounds about right at a OAL of 2.905" luckily I can mag feed 2.950"
