Measuring powder? is there a better way?

I have the scoops, plus a scoop came with my dies, I am currently only loading 7mm-08 and I find none of the scoop are close to what I want, one is way over and the other is way under.

I know that it doubles the time but can you find a scoop that is 1/2 what you want or 2 that add up to what you want?

I've done this on occasion but it does increase the pain in the a** factor and increases the possible for variation. Best bet is to look into some of the measures that people are recommending. Some aren't even all that pricey.

I bought a package with a 44 Mag in 1967. The Pacific Powder Measure works well and trickler helps. Although not an expensive item, the powder you use will be your biggest problen trying to throw consistent charges. Some of the "long cut" IMR powders might be the worst as they can bridge. When I was loading 24 gr of WW296 for the 44 and 24 gr. of WW748 for a 222 Rem, I only weighed to find the sweet spot, and then charge 40-100 cases at a go.

Good Luck.

if you're shooting at 300 yards or less, give or take, throwing charges works fine - you just need a consistent technique.

Any decent throw will work - RCBS, Hornady, Redding. The 3BR is a little more consistent - but it doesn't matter at shortish ranges.

Well I just loaded 50 rounds of .223 using my Charge Master to automatically dispense 25.5 gr or Varget today. It drops it in while I seat the Vmax and beeps telling me that it's done even before I am. The I put the pan back on the scale, it pauses to allow it to settle and starts dropping the next charge. It even keeps a round count. I gotta say - this is a DREAM MACHINE. Why have I been so long without one.

Yesterday I prep'd the cases using the Power Trimmer, another dream machine. Re-loading has been stepped up at least three fold with these two toys. It's actually fun to reload again. :D
