I am doing another test soon. Cow leg bones this time. I don't have any .308 200gr partitions and since that bullet is one of the all time greats I'd like to include it. If someone would be willing to mail me one in an envelope I would pay for it and be very thankful. A 180gr ttsx would be neat too just to compare to the Tsx version.

Other .308 that will be tested at 300wsm speed are: 165gr btip, 180gr btip, 180gr Barnes original, 180gr Tsx, 200gr accubond, 208gr amax and 210gr Berger vld.

Thanks

Interesting, looking forward to the results. I always thought a piece of hide with a couple inches of meat, then a shoulder blade followed by straight meat or gel after would make a good test too, as realistic as you could expect I would think.

Kman; I can send you the 200 Partition. Would you be interested in trying a 180 Scirocco II as well? How about a 165 GMX? I can send each, if you want.

I would gladly return the favor for all th people who supplied bullets for my test. Would you like some 175gr LRX?

IMHO the .308" 200gr Partition is one of the all time greats.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. I have shot 12 moose and 10 Elk with various "big" 30's and the 200 P.
Muzzle velocities were from 2850 to 3000 fps.

I have recovered exactly 1 bullet!! The rest have made it out the other side.

Shots taken were from 25 yards out to 525 yards.
No animal shot went more than 40 yards after the shot, not one had to be shot a second time.

I call that stellar performance.

I'm batting 1000 with the 200 nosler. I used them in my back up rifle guiding this fall, 300 wby at 3050fps. I shot one moose that had 3-4 338's in it was 90% dead. As my hunter was stuffing more 338s in to his blazer rifle I asked him if I could shoot the bull he said go a head but don't shoot him in the horns. I jumped at the chance to try my rifle out and not just carry I around all fall. Shot was quartering away about 75 yards not sure what it all went through as there was a lot of holes in the moose or where it stopped. I just found the bullet while cutting the front quarters off on top of the rib meat.

200gr nosler vs moose out of a 300 wby

I can send the CLASSIC 180 gr Nosler Partition if you like....piles shot in the various 300's every year........

I have the spire point and the protected point versions .... not sure if there is a difference on the inside for placement of the partition.

Awesome kman! As always I look forward to your testing, if you were using 8mm I would donate, but currently don't have a .308 of any kind believe it or not. I soon hope to remedy this 30 cal dry spell though.... Anyone know where I can get a classy -06? Lol

Kman; The bullets I promised you are on their way.
I sent 12 bullets total, 3 of each type. [165 GMX, 180 Scirocco II, 195 Bonded Chinchaga, 200 Partition.]
