After 15 years and well over 100,000 shells my MEC 9000G needs some repair. Has anyone sent their loader back to MEC in the U.S. for factory service? If so how much did it cost for the repairs and shipping? How long did it take and were there any border problems?

Were you happy with the work?

The guy I bought my MEC 9000 Hyraulic from sent it down for repairs once and he said they were great and fast. It did cost him the shipping I believe. He also has had custom "plungers" ( 2nd crimp stage) made longer as to get a factory style crimp using a 7/8oz load in a Federal hull. MEC made these to his specs as well as a custom 24 gram charge bar for the reloader and he only paid for the bar ( regular price) and shipping. As you could probably tell he thinks highly of MEC and the reloader I bought off him must have at least 100000 + shells through it. It works great.

Shipping might be a killer.

I haven't shipped a MEC but you can arrange to have return return shipping made to a UPS store stateside, and pay a $10 fee to pick it up in person to drive it home.

I did this for a large and heavy Omega photographic enlarger. Picked it up from the Buffalo UPS store, had lunch, stopped by a few gun shops, drove home.

Shipping will be circa $80-100 each way. Thanks for the tip about the UPS store I'm close enough to Buffalo to be able to do that.

In the meantime however I've decided to order some replacement parts and see whether I can do the repairs myself.
