Ok, just got back from the range. To recap, I bought 5 new MecGar mags for my Sig P226 9mm.
The mags are blued with a plastic bottom 1/3. I would have liked all metal mags, but they just aren't available. The metal half of the MecGar mags are the same as the Sig mags, but the surface of the plastic bottoms are slightly different. Finish and detail is as good if not better then the Sig mags.
All 5 MecGar mags loaded 10 rounds each without any problem. The last round was a little stiff, but no real problem. All 5 mags loaded into the gun positively and fell freely when released.
I ran all five mags through the Sig and there were no failures of any kind. They all ran smoothly with each one locking back on last round.
So while thats only once per mag, I would expect if there were problems they would show up from the get go.
I am not a 'buy the cheapest stuff guy', but new Sig P226 9mm mags at $70 a pop is a little steap for me.
IMHO MecGar Sig P226 9mm mags are good to go.
