So I'm pretty newb to reloading but money is tight and I want to keep my 870 fed, so I figured I would take the plunge.

I was wondering if anyone has experience with a MEC Sizemaster and could give me an opinion on wether it is worth the 300$. Everything I have read online suggests it is and it looks like a pretty slick rig.

Other than that could anyone suggest any other shot shell reloading rig that is a decent price and well reviewed??

Any info is much appreciated :D

It depends on what you are reloading for, that will determine which machine is best for you. If you want to reload for game shooting or non toxic shot where you don't shoot that many cartridges in a year, the Sizemaster is fine. However if it is for clayshooting you will soon get tired of it and a progressive press like the 9000 is a much better bet although a lot more money. I have both and the 9000 has more than paid for itself over the years. The Sizemaster allows me to "tailor" my Bismuth loads and saves money in the process. If you get the Sizemaster I would suggest that you buy an adjustable charge bar too as it will save a lot of hassle but with the 9000 you have to buy the bars and bushings.

Look in the EE you will find lots of MEC and other brand shotshell loaders for a fraction of new. I've seen a few sizemasters in the past while under $100.
If you can find cheap shot it will be cost effective but most target or skeet loads can be had for the same price as reloading if you buy in quantity.

Pretty good advice above so far.

I own Sizemasters and they make fantastic reloads once tuned.

I also (used to) load for volume with a 9000s. Again, fantastic reloads when tuned, and the volume at which you can crank out shells is fantastic.

If you are using target loads, it is nearly as cost effective to buy at $60/flat vs reloading. If you have special load requirements, the Sizemaster is a good way to go.

Also, if you are patient you will see them come up in EE. If you put up a WTB, you may have some luck that way too.
