MecGar pistol mags for a Shadow........anyone try them and are they any good? Would like to get CZ brand but seem to be hard to find. Was going to order MecGars online.

Most Shadow users suggest Tanfoglio mags. I am still using OEM CZ mags without any problem. Cost seems to be competitive with just luck in finding the right dealer. For Tanfoglio mags, check with Freedom Ventures. For Mec Gar, Marstar seems to have the best deal, if they have them in stock. Also, try Select Shooting Supplies.

MecGar mags are about as good as you can get and came with every military contract P226R I have seen. I have used them and found they where more reliable then the older SIG OEM mags.

Just be sure you clean any packing grease off them first.

The new mags for the CZ Shadow, from the factory, are the MecGar, with a +2 baseplate on them. I run pinned full cap ones and love them far more durable than the old 18 round CZ one's I ran previously. the mag lips have a better design to them and last much much longer. The 10 round version is the same body, but with an indent to prevent the follower from going down too far. That means you can also use the larger +2 baseplate as it doesn't actually increase capacity. Totally legal for Production division too, if that's a concern.

Good to hear as an option. If Mec Gar makes mags for CZ as OEM, did you ever notice scratches on you spent casings? My OEM mags, 7 mags in all makes this nasty scratch on spent casings. The scratches comes from the light burrs on the lips of the magazine. As you load the mag, light scratches. And as the spring pushes the ammo against the inner lips of the mag, upon extraction going into the chamber, the burrs make a distinct mark on your casing. I have to deburr the inner lips of the mags by dremel and a needle file. No damage in the chamber as the casing is softer than the barrel. Marred casing looks cosmetically ugly though.
