media sticking to cases

I have been tumbling some cases and recently the red media that came with my tumbler started to stick to the cases and it is REALLY hard to remove. Do I just replace it or can it be treated with something?

Sounds to me like it's pretty saturated with crap. How long have you been using the same media?

Go to a pet store and ask for Reptile Litter which should be crushed walnut shells. It's the same stuff you can buy from the makers of the tumblers only at 1/2-3/4 of the price. My local store had 2 sizes, 10 and 20lb bags. The 20lb bag was the best deal.

What red media? Mind you, I'd pitch it and get a bag of crushed walnut shells or crushed corn cobs from a pet supply place. A great big bag(40 pounds) will cost you under $20. It's used for small pet bedding.

thanks for the advice. do you have to treat the walnut shell with anything or use it as is?

Use it as is for cleaning. If you want your brass to look shiny then get some Nu-Finish car wax from Cambodian Tire and put a tablespoon or two in the media every 2nd or 3rd time you use it.

I bought the Lyman liquid polish but have also used a product designed for polishing aluminum mags which made some ugly cases look better than brand new ones.
