Any option for media tumblers that last ? Ive now gone through 2 lymans so i will not be going that route anymore. I bought the 2500 the second go around and it lasted 15 months. The 600 i had lasted 2 years
 
I use a Thumlers Tumbler with stainless steel media pins, water, lemon shine and Dawn dish-washing liquid. Cleans brass like new with a gorgeous shine or polish.

In saying this, it sounds like you use it a fair bit. I would call my usage a moderate level. I have had mine for six years now. Still works great!......:)

I have a FA tumbler, a Cabela(made by RCBS by the color, I suspect), and a CTC brand tumbler/polisher, which needed self-customizing with the top screwdown lid(addition washers and a wood spacer).

They are used a lot, and haven't given me any problems.
 
Had a RCBS many moons ago and sold it when I strayed from home rolled.
I stumbled across a deal on a Frankford and while it is smaller than the RCBS I had it does the job for hunting ammo. (100rnds a year)

I made my own ghetto wet s/s pin tumbler, been using it for the past 3 years. Works great and it’s fairly fast.
 
I bought a Chinese tumbler off of Amazon. This one.

Had it for about 3 months and it cleans everything up nice without a problem and is a solid piece of equpment. Don't bother spending the money for a "name brand" case tumbler they are just buying something off the shelf from China and slapping their name on it save yourself some cash and skip the middleman.
 
I've been using a Lyman 1200 for about 20 years now. The plastic molding around the threaded center post broke off a couple of years ago. The break was clean, so I used the strongest JB Weld I could find (rated at 4400psi) to glue it back in place. That was two years ago. It's still hanging in there.

In Mexico, we shot a lot and used the tumblers constantly, many hours each week. The Frankfords are nice tumblers -- it's what I have here in Canada -- but you only get a couple years of heavy use out of them if you are lucky. About 6 years ago we pulled the pin and got the big Dillon tumbler. It's expensive. But it works. And boy, does it tumble. No wonder those critters came up out of the floor in Tremors.
 
I use the FART lite and so far it’s been good but it only gets used a couple times a month
Also have the FA brass dryer and it’s been good so far too
 
I use a Dillon 2001 tumbler & have done hundreds of thousands of brass in it. It holds lots of brass & does a great job with the the mix of ingredients. The biggest thing is maintenance, (like anything motorized)
Twice a year I take it apart, clean it well, blow out the motor with compressed air & oil the bearings. It just keeps on polishing.

I have an RCBS that has lasted 25 years and still runs great. Sometimes I would forget about it and run it for days. I don't think I've ever done any real maintenance on it other than blow the dust off of it, but henry does make a good point.

I bought one of the big Lyman ones a year ago and hope it doesn't die like yours! :)

Just got another lightly used RCBS as part of a package deal. It was too good a deal to pass up on, but I haven't plugged it in yet even, so don't knwo if it's the same quality as my old RCBS.

For larger batches of brass cleaning I use a cement mixer. As I only use it for brass and not cement, I expect it to last some time. :)
 
Dillon all the way. When my small Dillon tumbler gave up the ghost after 25 years Dillon put a new motor into it for me for about half the price of a new one. I should be good for another 25 years
 
I've been using twin Rcbs sidewinder. Bought the first one on sale 15 years ago.
Second one on trade..
A little fan keeps the motor cool , run them all.night..
FYI... dont run the drums to light, they slip.. always 85% full.. they need the weight, and friction to spin

bought the used one , had tape on it..lol buddy had issues traded it cheap. Running lyman media
