This is a great idea Lawrence, will this be on the Saturday afternoon and what will the round count be??? With any kind of luck I'll be healthy enough to be there for the match.

If have this one marked on my calendar since the guns I bought for Cowboy Action have never been used for Cowboy Action. Hopefully the weather is good, I definitely do not like my lever action in the cold.

Factory Marlin 1894CS in .38/.357. It hasn't even had enough rounds through it to break it in. Bought it mid winter and first time shooting it was at about minus 20. Thumb froze loading it and I somehow managed to split my thumb open. Need a piece of dowel for loading.

Did some reading, seems hard loading is a common problem that could likely be solved by breaking in the loading gate by running several boxes of ammo through it. Some recommend thinning the loading gate neck or trimming the magazine spring, both options I would be reluctant to do. Off to the range to break it in it is.

I started with an 1892 Rossi, but after using an 1866, I purchased one of my own and later an 1873.
I find the toggles actions slick right from the box and not at all temperamental.

The problem with M92's an clones that the practiced shooter can generally run the firearm faster than it was designed for. I've been shooting B Western for the last year and my timings average 10 seconds a stage longer than when I shot as a 49er with a Uberti M73.

I never really had that problem! ☺
They time me with an hour glass, but I shoot slow for a reason: It makes things easier for the spotters!
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

No offense but your posts are a little confusing as to scheduling...

100round rifle and pistol tells me 10 stages: 5 Saturday and 5 Sunday I would expect?

I see Wild Bunch is first thing Sunday morning.....so finish the CAS after the Wild Bunch is completed?

I am thinking of heading over to shoot this match and we are just trying to get the timing figured out.

John
