What would you buy and why ?

I am torn between a STI Trojan 5 and Kimber Custom II TLE. Both are about the same price.

If you have suggestions, they are welcomed. I will list some caracteristics that are needed.

-night sights
-blued or black
-maybe two-tones
-5 inch bbl
-must be top tier quality
-just to fire at range
- I like quality
-Steel frame
-no rail

I you know good quality 1911 AVAILABLE in Canada tell me and where to get them.

Flip a coin. They are both great guns.

If you are in Aaaaadmontin you might want to go down to the Phoenix Range and check out the STI's. If I recall they have some rental guns and you can at least try one before you buy.

Night sights serve a couple purposes....some action shooting for competition takes place in low light/no light....also some people CCW in the states

yeah, but he just said it was going to be for the range only
I know what night sights are for :p

Oh yeah....I missed that part, must be getting late

it's all good
My point was just that for target, fiber optic front with adjustable rear would've been a better combination, but whatever floats his boat, sights are easily replaced. Except for mine which were glued in

Me, I'd go for the Kimber.

NAA.

I always think that even if you only intend your guns for range use, having night sights is not a bad idea, because although your intention for your gun may be a plinker or range toy or whatever, you never know what is coming down the pipe.

I don't plan to be the victim of a home invasion and I doubt I ever will be! But you know, just in case...I like a gun to be prepared to help me out if I need it.

Of course if you have 60 guns on hand I guess there is no need for every single one to be a good defensive tool. Still I have a hard time not thinking that way about all my guns.

STI Trojan hands down. No night sites on it though... but you could always put them on later if you really need them.
